Chapter 1: Page 3

     Now that everyone was in their wolf forms, I spun around and headed off at a dead run into the forest. All of us tried to get pack time in at least once every week because of our jobs and our own personal lives. It was hard to find the time though 'cause we had to make sure that no hunters were anywhere nearby. The last time there was a hunter while we were running he not only tried to shoot at us but he also told the news that there were colored wolves running around in the forests. They had obviously thought that was the coolest thing ever and done a stakeout in the forest where we had been seen. After that incident we hadn't gone back into the forest for an entire month and it had slowly driven all of us crazy.
     Just before we all lost our minds the news had given up and claimed that the hunter had been halucinating. After we had heard this news we began to map our running routes that way we knew where the hunters would be during which time of the season.
     The path that we ran along now was leading us to a giant waterfall that we hadn't known was there until the first time we took the path.
     When we did reach the waterfall we shifted back and changed into our siwmsuites that we had all left there to go swimming with. As soon as we were dressed again we all grabbed each others hands near the edge of the pool and jumped in without a second thought.
     I kicked my way back to the surface like everyone else and took a deep breath as my head cleared the water. Everytime we came out to this waterfall we always gave into the urge to swim in the large lagoon that it dumped into.
     Markus swam up to me and gave me a kiss on the cheek before asking "What's wrong? You seem to be adgitated by something."
     He wasn't very far from the truth. Ever since we reached the halfway point between the field and the waterfall my wolf had been on guard and restless. I skimmed the forest around us and tried to figure out what was making my wolf so paranoid.
     Before I knew it Sarah and Mist had also gone tense and were looking around slowly.
     I turned to Markus and whispered "Something is very wrong. I have no idea what but it's coming this way. We need to leave and get back."
     He nodded his head and pulled me to the edge of the water before getting out. I followed him, but I kept my eyes on the trees waiting for whatever danger was approaching us.
     Everyone went and hid behind multiple large boulders that surrounded the area and stripped of their suits before shifting back into their wolf forms and running from tree to tree on our way back to the clearing.
     The entire time we ran back I kept my senses open and kept an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.
